Interactive Art Workshops with Mirabelle Jones
Upcoming Workshops! Mirabelle has THREE online courses in interactive art coming up next month and these will probably be the last online courses they can offer for a while due to impending academia! So get 'em while they're hot! For each course, you can attend the whole series, or just one class. All are beginner friendly. Here's more info from them about each course to help you pick:
Building Interactive Installations (Codame) - This class is LIVE streamed every Sunday morning 10 A.M. PST starting 08/31 and will run for 5 classes! Classes are not recorded. Each session is 2 hours and you will learn how to work with Arduino (Circuit Playground) and / or TouchDesigner to build interactive art and installations with specific projects depending on the class. We will be covering how to create a wide range of interactivity using sensors and combining video input and feedback systems!

~ Sundays, 10 AM PST, for 5 weeks ~
Interactive Media Art with Light and Sensors (HackadayU) - This class includes pre-recorded content that you can access whenever you wish plus one optional office hour a week for one-on-ones with the instructor! We won't be covering TouchDesigner or working with video in this course but we will be going over how to work with sensors (light, motion, sound, touch) to trigger shifts in lighting and sound output using Arduino. This is a great class for artists and performers who want to work with Arduino / interactivity but have been too shy to try!

LED Programming with Arduino and FastLED - Cathy Laughlin and I are teaming up for this very unique class on LED programming! Having learned so much from Cathy personally, I'm really overjoyed to be working with her on this. Cathy is an incredible lighting designer. If you've ever been to Meow Wolf's House of Eternal Return you've probably seen Cathy's beautiful work in the dryer tunnel, the ice box spa, and the time worm room behind the bookshelf as well as many other places! Below are a few photos in case you haven't been. This class will cover how to work with onboard LEDs of the circuit playground and work up to using LED matrixes.

Mirabelle Jones is a queer non-binary creative technologist, writer and interdisciplinary artist from Oakland currently living in Copenhagen. Recently, they served as Sr. Designer / Developer for Meow Wolf‘s technology team with a specialization in interactive storytelling, sensors, responsive lighting and sound, 3D printing and computer vision.
